STRIVING FOR COOPERATION AND IMPLEMENTATION

The SHAFE Foundation aims to research, develop, network and promote the implementation of Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments (SHAFE) in Europe and in other regions of the world.

Our activities:

  • Develop fundamental and applied research, creating and collaborating on research reports, publications and other forms of research in the scope of SHAFE or adjacent fields.
  • Create, maintain and promote cooperation in a network of all types of stakeholders from every region of the world, working in the field of SHAFE or related areas.
  • Develop and promote the creation of political strategies and training, actions and activities related to policy making and skills development, enabling the promotion and implementation of SHAFE at all levels.
  • Promote by all means the implementation of societies that are inclusive and fit for all people, regardless of their age, gender, race, culture or specific needs through a coordinated approach to the combination of the built environment, ICT, health and care and the personal and social context.
  • Communicate and disseminate SHAFE and related areas in all possible ways.
  • Fund relevant initiatives in the field of SHAFE and make efforts to obtain the necessary donations and public and private funds.

These local and regional initiatives will inspire many more areas in connected countries and promote upscale of successful practices all around Europe.

Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments strive to overcome fragmentation and critical gaps, both at the conceptual and pragmatic levels of innovation. The COVID19 pandemic brings social and economic consequences that will threaten the quality of life of the most vulnerable. SHAFE aims to keep societal priorities at the top of the political agenda.
